Waste Disposal Announcements

Due to high demand, Davis Disposal has provided a cardboard recycling dumpster located in the west parking lot across from the Cape Charles Coffee House. All cardboard boxes must be broken down and placed through the narrow slot in the front of the dumpster.

Yard Debris

Yard debris will be picked up on Mondays.  The yard debris must be stacked in the front yard between the sidewalk and the curb.  Limbs and branches must be cut in maximum lengths of 4’ (See Town Code Section 58-32b.)  No limbs larger than a 2” radius will be picked up.  Loose debris, vines and leaves must be bagged in biodegradable bags. Construction Debris WILL NOT be picked up.

Recycling Facilities

Northampton County provides several Recycling Facilities that accept plastic, glass, newspaper, cardboard, aluminum and steel cans, waste oil and batteries.  Waste oil and batteries are also collected.  Large or bulky household items occasionally needing disposal by a resident will also be accepted and transported to a disposal site.

The closest location to the Town is in Bayview at 22564 Bayview Circle.  The hours of operation are Monday – Saturday 7:30 AM – 6 PM; Sunday 1 PM – 6 PM.  More information can be located on the Northampton County website at

 Basic Rates 
 Weekly pickup of 120 gallons of trash
 (1-96 gal. carton and up to 2 – 12 gal. bags)
  Excess Residential trash up to one half pick up load  $10.00 per load
  Excess Residential trash more than one half pick up load   $25.00 per load
 Oversize items (more than 8 cu. ft. in volume)  $25.00 plus landfill fee
 Brush more than 6 ft. in length and/or 4” in diameter  $50.00 plus landfill fee
