The Town of Cape Charles is located in Northampton County on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The Town is situated on a small peninsula, bordered by the Chesapeake Bay to the west, King’s Creek to the north and Old Plantation Creek to the southeast. A regional map is provided to the right. Driving Directions The Town is located approximately one mile west of U.S. Route 13, one of the east coast's major north-south corridors. When driving north on Route 13, Cape Charles is approximately 12 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. At the first stop light after the CBBT, turn left onto Route 184. You will reach Cape Charles after driving on Route 184 for one mile. When approaching Cape Charles from the north, you will reach the Route 184 intersection after driving on Route 13 through Northampton County for about 25 miles.
Town Office Locations The Council Chambers and most Town offices are located in the Municipal Building at 2 Plum Street. Departments located in the Municipal Building include the Clerk, Treasurer, Building, Public Works and Utilities, Planning and Zoning, and the Town Manager. The Police Department and the Public Works field office are located at 713 Randolph Avenue.
