The purpose of this electronic newsletter is to pass factual, informative and timely information to the citizens of Cape Charles and to any other individuals who have a business, property, travel or historical interest in our Town.

The information contained in this newsletter is considered to be the "official word" on the Town’s activities as noted by our Town Manager. The Cape Charles Gazette will be a news source that will report weekly events, upcoming Town activities, articles of interest to our citizens, Town projects, safety & security issues, and emergency announcements.

First Annual Christmas Parade

Christmas Parade Invitation!

The First Annual Cape Charles Christmas Parade will be held on Sunday, December 21 starting at 5:00 PM. The parade begins at the beachfront and runs along Mason Avenue, ending at Rayfield’s Pharmacy.

We invite all Eastern Shore officials, law enforcement officers, volunteer firefighters along with their fire fighting vehicles, rescue squad volunteers and their vehicles, business, community, civic, veteran, and social organizations, automobile clubs, motorcycle clubs, riding groups, etc. to be a part of this wonderful and festive parade.

And, we invite children - the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H clubs, T-Ball & Baseball teams, and school groups to participate in the parade. Children can ride their decorated tricycles, scooters, or bicycles; ride with an adult in a decorated golf cart, bus or car, or just walk, as part of a group or with a responsible adult.


ATTENTION ALL CHILDREN

SANTA CLAUS will be at the Cape Charles Post Office!

Sunday, December 21 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

You are invited to visit and have your photo taken with Santa.


Starting at 3:00 PM, the Cape Charles Post Office is holding a Scavenger Hunt for children between the ages of 4 and 18. There is no charge to participate, and those interested should come to the Cape Charles Post Office at 3:00 PM to receive the rules and instructions for the hunt before they head off!

If you are interested in participating in the inaugural Cape Charles Christmas Parade, please contact our Postmaster Coretta Alston at 331-4927 for more information, a registration package and parade line-up directions or drop by the Cape Charles Post Office.

All registration forms are due back to Ms. Alston by Thursday, December 18 at 4:30 PM.
